Regions from Northern Sweden Unite at European Hydrogen Week

An extensive delegation from Norrbotten, Västerbotten, Västernorrland, and Jämtland Härjedalen will participate in European Hydrogen Week in Brussels from November 18-22.

With a strong focus on the green industrial transition, the initiative aims to increase international awareness of Northern Sweden’s advancements within the hydrogen ecosystem and to invite more stakeholders to join this development.

–By collaborating across regional borders and together with our EU office, we have great opportunities to showcase the best of Northern Sweden and tackle future challenges together, says Mikael Aamisepp, Director of Investment at High Coast Invest.

In the shared exhibition space, the “North Sweden Pavilion,” the Northern Sweden delegation will showcase the region as a strategic choice for new investments in the green hydrogen value chain.

Roundtable Discussions and Networking to Address Strategic Interests at the EU Level

Throughout the week, roundtable discussions and networking events will be held in collaboration with the North Sweden European Office, inviting key EU policymakers to gain insights into the development work in Northern Sweden and to discuss challenges and opportunities. A key topic will be the legislative proposals currently under negotiation in the EU that directly impact Northern Sweden’s green transition.

The unified message from the “North Sweden Pavilion” is that Northern Sweden’s growing hydrogen ecosystem is a vital part of the transformation of the industry, the transport sector, and society. More stakeholders are invited to join and strengthen the hydrogen value chains in Northern Sweden.
